The village offers many possibilities:
To the south you can visit the Indian village Barra Velha in the national Park Monte Pascoal. It is approximately 6 km from Caraiva and can be reached on foot, horseback or chariot.
Handcraft is the earning of most Indian families of the village. The visit offers you the opportunity to see how the Indians live and buy their handcraft.
Special dates:
1-6/January
20/January
19/April (Indian Day in Brazil)
On those days, visitors will have the chance to see authentic dancing, and try local food and drinks (i.e. the cauim and the fish na patioba).

Further south, approximately 12 km away is the Ponta do Corumbal. It is an excellent diving spot for seeing corals. This region has very important natural resources, which are used by the community. The trip can also be done by boat.
Towards the north, you can reach the Satu lagoon and the beaches of Curuipe and Espelho, considered to be two of the most beautiful Brazilian beaches by Veja magazine.
Another suggestion is to sail up the river Caraiva, where you can enjoy the variety of birds and flora, e.g. mangrove and native forest.
Watching the sunset and the birds flying over the river from the Ponto dos Mentirosos is a must.
